Jeanne Villepreux-Power

Her study of the ecosystems in Sicily and work as a Marine Biologist led Villepreux-Power to invent the aquarium. She invented the glass aquarium in order to assist her observations and study of molluscs and their fossils. She was also a conservationist and developed many sustainability practices for aquaculture in Sicily.
